Send payment receipts

A receipt is an email with a PDF and its own receipt number, showing what was paid and what is left to pay.

When you record a payment

In Record payment, switch on Send payment receipt via email, check the email address and message, then tap Record & send.

Send one later

  1. Find the payment under Payments made on the job, or in the invoice’s Payment history.
  2. Tap ⋯ on the payment and tap Send receipt.
  3. Check To. Leave Message (optional) empty to use your usual receipt wording, then tap Send receipt.

Once a receipt has gone, the payment shows its number and the date it was emailed, and the menu offers Send receipt again.

Card payments

Switch on Send a receipt automatically for card payments in Settings › Card payments. The customer then gets a receipt by email whenever a card or banking app payment arrives.

Good to know

  • Change your usual receipt email in Settings › Emails.
  • Each business profile numbers its own receipts, for example R-0001. Set the Receipt prefix under Card payments on the profile in Settings › Business profiles.
  • Write-offs, customer credit and credit notes without a refund aren’t money received, so they have no receipt.
  • With no signal, the receipt is queued and goes when you’re back online.
