Automatic payment reminders
The app can email customers about unpaid invoices for you, on weekday mornings around 9am, even when your phone is off.
Switch them on
- Go to Settings › Emails and find Payment reminders. On a phone, Settings is on the You tab.
- Switch on Remind customers about unpaid invoices.
- Check the wording under Reminder emails. Each one can include a Pay now link when card payments are set up, and your bank details with the payment reference.
When they go
- On the due date.
- 7 days late.
- 14 days late.
- At 21 days late there are no more emails. You get a “Call this customer” item instead.
Reminders start once the invoice is sent, and only when it has a due date and a customer email. Each one is logged on the invoice.
Pause or stop them
- One invoice: open the invoice. Under Reminders you see when the next one goes. Tap Pause, and Resume to start them again.
- One customer: on their contact, switch on Don’t send payment reminders.
Good to know
- Late-payment interest wording adds the late-payment interest line to the last reminder. It only goes to business customers, meaning invoices with a company name on them, never home customers.
- Reminders pause by themselves while a card payment on the invoice is disputed.
- Follow up estimates, in the same place, sends one email 5 days after an estimate goes out, if the customer hasn’t opened or answered it.
