Stretch rooms in the cutting plan preview
Stretch rooms makes a simpler plan with fewer lines to cut, by growing pieces into the gaps around them until their edges line up.
Use the slider
- On the cutting plan, tap View, then Cutting plan preview.
- Drag the Stretch rooms slider. It moves in 10 cm steps.
- The plan redraws as you go, and the waste figure beside the slider follows.
- Stop where the plan looks right to cut.
The slider reads “up to 0.30m”, for example. That’s the most any room grows by, to fill the widest gap. Most rooms grow less, and some not at all.
Set it to Off and the rooms show at their real size.
Line up edges
Under the slider, Line up edges is on to begin with. Like the slider setting, it’s kept with each plan.
Good to know
- Stretching changes the drawing you cut from, not the roll you order. The roll length and width stay the same.
- The PDF you export or save from the preview shows the plan as stretched. Set the slider to Off for a PDF at real room sizes.
- On a phone, the panel drops down while you hold the slider so you can see the whole plan.
- On the Team plan, a fitter opening the plan sees the stretch as the office saved it.
