The job’s map pin, Directions and Share

Each job’s site gets a pin on a small map, so whoever goes there finds the right door.

Where the map shows

The map sits under the site address in the job’s Customer part, and in each booking. When the job has an address, the app looks it up and places the pin for you.

Move the pin

ZIP codes can cover a whole street, and new builds or farms often aren’t where the map thinks.

  1. Tap Move pin, or tap the map.
  2. Move the map so the pin is on the site’s door. You can also search for a ZIP code, street or place.
  3. On site, tap Use where I am now to put the pin where you’re standing. The first time, your phone asks to use your location.
  4. Tap Save pin.

If the map can’t find the address, you’ll see Drop a pin instead. Tap it and place the pin the same way.

Get there and share it

  • Open in Maps opens the pin in Google Maps.
  • Share sends the job name, the address and a map link through your phone’s share menu, for example to an installer by text. Where sharing isn’t available, the location is copied for you to paste.
  • Directions on the bar at the bottom of a job opens Google Maps directions to the site address.

Good to know

  • If the address changes after the pin was placed, the app asks whether the pin is still right. Tap Keep pin or Place it again.
  • No signal? Once the map has loaded, a picture of it is kept with the job, so it still shows offline and on your other devices. Use where I am now works offline too: the pin is saved on your phone and syncs later.
  • A booking at a different address, such as a supplier, keeps its own pin and doesn’t change the job’s.
  • Installers who can only view a booking see the map, Open in Maps and Share, but can’t move the pin.
