Add pad or underlayment, tack strip, labor and other extras

Everything that goes with the floor has its own section on the job page, and each one works out its quantity from the rooms you choose.

The sections

Under Materials:

  • Pad / Underlayment: priced per sq ft (switch on Order full rolls only to round up to whole rolls) or per roll.
  • Tack Strip: worked out from the room edges and priced by the Box, by the Length or per foot.
  • Transition Strips: thresholds, reducers, T-moldings and carpet bars, priced each or by length, with how many go in each room.
  • Leveling compound: from the area, the thickness you need and how much one unit covers.
  • Plywood & panels: from the area and the sheet size, in whole sheets.

Under Money:

  • Labor: per sq ft, Flat rate or Per hour, with optional extra charges such as a staircase or step charge.
  • Extras and consumables: anything else, priced per sq ft, by Perimeter, as a Flat rate or Per pack (for example a can of adhesive that covers a set area).

Add one

  1. Sections with nothing in them are folded into one row, Not on this job:. Tap the one you need, for example + Pad / Underlayment.
  2. Tap the add button in the section and pick from your price list, or Empty for a blank item.
  3. Tap Choose rooms and check the rooms (or a whole cutting plan) it covers.

Switch a section off

Each section has a switch in its header. Turn it off and the items are kept but left out of the Summary, estimates, invoices and job sheets. Turn it on again to bring them back. Handy for an option the customer hasn’t decided on.

Good to know

  • Tack strip has a Leave out doorways switch. It takes off the width of each transition strip placed in the chosen rooms, because tack strip isn’t installed across a doorway. It only changes how much you order; customers don’t see it.
  • Call a section what you like, for example “Floor patch” for leveling compound, in Settings › Section names. The new name shows on the job page and your documents.
